Imagine standing where the image was made
Landscape photography from Utah, the desert Southwest, West Texas and the Great Smoky Mountains.
The work
I photograph iconic national parks and remote backcountry roads so you feel like you are standing where I stood when I made the frame. Each image is a realistic HDR rendering of the scene as my eyes saw it.

Monument Valley, Utah and Arizona
Monument Valley Viewpoint
Three sandstone buttes rise from the desert floor in warm, low light under a pale blue sky. A dirt road curves through the foreground toward the formations.

Smoky Mountain Cascades
A mountain stream steps down mossy boulders in soft, silky water. Green rhododendron and trees frame the scene, with warm light on the far bank.

How I work
Backcountry access
My 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser takes me to roads and trailheads that other vehicles cannot reach, in any conditions.
Camp-based fieldwork
I would rather camp in the wilderness than stay in a hotel. Time on location shapes how I see each scene.
Realistic HDR
HDR is my preferred method, used to show the scene the way my eyes saw it, not to exaggerate it.
